Festive food and Christmas presents mean bins can quickly fill up this time of year, so don’t get caught out and miss your collection dates.
Both Christmas Day and New Year’s Day are on a Friday this year, while the Boxing Day bank holiday will fall on Monday December 27, due to Boxing Day being a Saturday.
So if your usual bin day is a Friday or Monday, then expect change over the next two weeks – although some councils will collect on Monday December 27 and on weekend dates.
Collections will return to normal in the first week of the new year.
In many cases, if your bin day is a Friday, you will have to wait until the following Sunday or Monday for collection. Just don’t forget to put your bins out!
